if your standards for a relationship don’t really extend beyond “we like the same things” then you kind of deserve to be single

I see a lot of people bring up requirements for dating them in terms of the media they already consume and while it’s nice to talk to someone about something you like I think it’s pretty cool to have different and engaging interests and then just have both parties be willing to expand their horizons and try new things

A lot of people seem really shocked and insulted when someone they’re interested in getting to know more isn’t aware of a piece of media and like yeah maybe it is weird they missed getting on that train but

Now you get to be the person to show them that thing for the first time and help them possibly even get as hooked on that thing as you are! Isn’t that just as much fun if not more so?
