“One tremendous problem we have in this country is that too many who run in whitecollarish circles get absolutely enraged at the idea that some people working in blue collar or service industry jobs might actually be making a few bucks. It doesn’t matter how hard those jobs are, that the jobs might actually require a high level of skills, or how many years people have been in those jobs, they’re somehow seen as lesser jobs.”—
It’s more than just money, it’s an entire attitude that blue collar people are too stupid to “move up” to white collar jobs. I’ve experienced this first hand more times than I can count. When people ask where my dad works, I say “in a glass plant.” It’s true - he’s worked at the same plant since before I was born. The more complicated answer is that he started there right after high school, spent 15 years building shipping crates for massive panes of glass, finally finished his engineering degree and has been an engineer in the same plant for the past 17 years. You would not believe the superior little smirks I catch for the “in a glass plant” portion of the answer, which is a big part of why I keep right on answering that way. Fuck you in the eye, and thanks for letting me know that you’re a classist asshole up front.
Good to know I’m not attracting the crazies in my slutty get ups.
This is crazy. No purse straps across the chest? No stretching? And if my boobs bounce when I walk then I am immodest? News flash: boobs move.
omg it just gets worse and worse.
I know none of these “Christian men” are also members of the bigoted mindset that Islam and burqas are evil.
OH MY LORD. OUR BODIES, ARE NOT, INDECENT. How can women be immodest just by the clothes they wear, when men can potter around in just shrunks when it’s hot with not an ounce of shock aroused by others ?! It just insinuates that our bodies are therefore ugly or something horrendous or OFFENSIVE to look at.
Which is absolutely flawed, idiotic and the lamest “logic” I’ve ever heard.
I know why you’re so “offended”. It’s because we’re way sexier than you’ll ever be, and you don’t like that. Do you. WELL CRY ME A RIVER.
How can something be ‘unnaturally’ revealing? Aren’t we all naturally… naked?
